Wild Game Processing
We offer multiple services when it comes to wild game. As long as you have a valid tag and a clean animal, we can process it for you.
Please note: All wild game must be very clean, with no hair, dirt, twigs, hide, hooves, throat, etc. Large cleaning fees will be assessed to animals that come to us dirty. A valid tag must be kept with the animal at all times. A copy of the tag will be made for you to keep with the head. All documents will be returned when you pick up your meat. These requirements also pertain to hang only animals. All services are provided on a first come first serve basis. No spaces will be reserved. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact us.

Hang Only Service
We do offer hang only services if you are just looking for a temporary cooler to hang your animal. A clean animal as well as a valid tag is still required.
Grind and/or Wrapping Service

Unfortunately, due to FDA inspection regulations, no. You will need to arrange purchase and slaughter of the animal. We will then process, package and freeze the meat so it’s ready to put in your home freezer.
It depends on a lot of factors. Mainly the type of animal your are having processed. For instance a large old fatty beef is best to let hang for for at least 10 days or more. While hogs & sheep usually just get processed as soon as our butchers can get to it. Some people have different hanging preferences and we work with the you to accommodate whenever possible.
When we receive the animal, we weigh the animal. This is how the weight used for billing. We follow up with you and go over cutting instructions to tailor the process to your needs. Once the animal is ready to be processed we cut the steaks and roasts as requested and grind the remaining meat for burger/sausage. The meat is then packaged into your desired quantities wrapped in a plastic cellophane to prevent freezer burn, followed by butcher paper that has a wax coating. After the cutting and wrapping is complete, we ensure a deep freeze on all the meat before calling you to pick up.
This depends on the type of animal, the amount of fat, your cutting preferences, and many other factors. The animal is weighed on the rail. With beef you can expect on average around 1/3 loss from hanging weight. Other animals can expect loss similar loss from trimming fat, removing bone, etc.
